Aloha Festivals 2026

The Aloha Festivals, Hawaii largest celebration of its rich cultural heritage, will take place from September 5 through September 26, 2026.

All events are free and open to the public, offering an opportunity to experience the traditions, music, and enduring spirit of aloha.

First established in 1946 as “Aloha Week,” the festival celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2026. For eight decades, it has honored Hawaii unique culture and traditions while bringing the spirit of aloha to people from around the world.

At The Royal Hawaiian, the festivities will begin with the Royal Court Investiture & Opening Ceremony. Featuring traditional hula and Hawaiian music, the celebration offers an elegant introduction to the rich heritage of the Hawaiian monarchy and the enduring spirit of aloha.

The Royal Hawaiian

An opening event for the Aloha Festivals, featuring the introduction of the Royal Court and honoring Hawaii royal traditions.

The Royal Court will be introduced on the grounds of Helumoa, the historic home of Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop. Following the Royal Court Investiture, where the King, Queen, Prince, and Princess receive their traditional royal attire and symbols of their reign, the Opening Ceremony takes place at the Royal Grove at Royal Hawaiian Center. The evening features hula and musical performances, creating a special celebration in the heart of Waikiki.

■ 72nd Annual Waikiki Hoolaulea

One of Waikiki’s largest street festivals, the Waikiki Hoolaulea transforms Kalakaua Avenue into a pedestrian-friendly celebration of Hawaiian culture.
Visitors and locals come together to enjoy an evening filled with Hawaiian music and hula performances, traditional crafts, lei, and a variety of local food and flavors from across the islands.
Experience the aloha spirit as Waikiki comes alive for this one-night celebration, bringing together the community and travelers in the heart of the island.

■ 78th Annual Floral Parade

A spectacular parade marking the grand finale of the Aloha Festivals.
Colorfully decorated floral floats, the Pau Riders (women on horseback), hula performers, and marching bands fill the streets of Waikiki, bringing the beauty and spirit of Hawaii to life. This beloved event offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the island’s rich culture and the true spirit of aloha.
