Guests who are staying with us on February 1st are welcome to join us in commemorating the Royal Hawaiian Resort's legacy.

Please join us as we celebrate the 97th anniversary of the Royal Hawaiian followed by a special performance by The Royal Hawaiian Band.

The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort, first opened on February 1st, 1927. Matson Navigation Company built the iconic Pink Palace of the Pacific on 15 acres of beautiful beach frontage with a price tag of $4 million  dollars. Guests traveled for 2 weeks to get here by steamship. The six-story, 400-room structure known as the Historic Wing was fashioned in a Spanish-Moorish style during that time period. The Mailani Tower was then built 42 years later in 1969.

Today, the resort is the most coveted spot on Waikiki Beach within a sanctuary of lush gardens, unrivalled panoramic views of Diamond Head, the sparkling Pacific Ocean and offers Hawaii’s most majestic and memorable experiences through exceptional service.
