Offering a quiet oasis fronting world-famous Waikiki Beach and the sparkling Pacific Ocean, this exclusive poolside enclave is lined by luxurious lounge chairs with plush cushions under the shade of over-sized, deck umbrellas. Private poolside cabanas are available for hire atop a stunning stone pool deck. Beach Activities

Available from Waikiki Beach Services our on-site beach concession, who will provide you with a legendary ocean experience. The Waikiki beach boys at Waikiki Beach Services can offer you everything from surfing lessons and stand up paddle board classes, to outrigger canoe rides and indepth knowledge of the history of Hawaiian surf heritage. We invite you to view their services on their independently operated and owned Waikiki Beach Services site.

For guest who prefer to spend their days relaxing and soaking up the warmth of the Hawaiian sun, our private beach area, exclusive to Royal Hawaiian guests, offers chaise lounges and umbrellas for rental.

Beach Chaise Lounge and Umbrella Set Rental

From the comfort of your private beach chaise lounge and umbrella set, enjoy panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and world-famous Diamond Head. All of our beach sets face the ocean and allow our guests to take in the sights and sounds of Waikiki while soaking up the Hawaiian sun. Each private beach set includes the use of one umbrella and two chaise lounges for the duration of the day. The fee is $40 per day plus tax.

Note: Changes or cancellations made within 48 hours of a cabana and/or a beach set reservation will result in a full charge to the guest. No shows will also result in a full charge to the guest. 

Helumoa Playground and Keiki Pool

A Waikiki beachfront extravaganza beckons both the young and the young at heart. The Helumoa Playground features two fresh water swimming pools, a 15-foot high by 70-foot long water slide, two large whirlpool spas with sweeping views of Waikiki Beach, an interactive fountain area for kids, fun and creative food and beverage, water chaise lounges, and a pool hut where guests may borrow towels and purchase pool goods including sun products, inflatable floatation devices and toys. Lei making, water slide races, hula lessons, storytelling and stargazing are just some of the activities guests can enjoy at the Helumoa Playground.

The Helumoa Playground is a shared pool area for guests of The Royal Hawaiian and Sheraton Waikiki. 

Jacuzzi Options

Guest of The Royal Hawaiian may enjoy the tranquil jacuzzi beside the Royal pool, as well as the two Jacuzzis at Helumoa Playground resort pool.

Pool Attendants

Please note that there are no lifeguards on duty at the Royal Pool or the Helumoa Playground. Parents  are advised to keep a close eye on their children. Beach and Pool Ambassadors are available daily from 7:00am to 7:00pm.

Poolside Food and Beverage Services

Poolside Food and Beverage Service is available for your convenience. A large selection, from tropical fruits and smoothies, to full meals and cocktails, are available to order from one of our attendants.

Mai Tai Bar

Hand-crafted cocktails and lite fare.

Bar Hours: 10:00am daily until late.
Lunch Service Hours: 11:00am to 3:30pm.
Dinner Service Hours: 3:30pm to 10:00pm.

Surf Lanai

Al fresco breakfasts and lunches.

Breakfast Service Hours: 6:30am to 11:00am.
Lunch Service Hours: 11:30am to 2:00pm.

NOTE: Beverage service is available at the Royal pool and Helumoa Playground decks; however, by Hawaii state law, alcohol is NOT permitted on Waikiki Beach.

Towels are provided free of charge to resort guests.
Chaise lounges, umbrellas, jacuzzi spas and slides are available for your comfort and enjoyment.
