The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort is proud to feature a Matson Exhibit, Boat Days.
The exhibit will be on display in the Coronet Lounge in the resort's lower lobby from July 18th through January 31, 2013, with no admission.
This exhibit showcases a collection of rarely seen photographs of visitors traveling to O'ahu on Matson ship liners, courtesy of the Matson Navigation Company Archives.

The Royal Hawaiian is honored to host unique and authentic experiences of Ka Makahiki on Saturday, January 12. The arrival of Lono (patron of rain and fertility) by sea to Ka Makahiki will be the first reenactment ever recorded . Be a part of this memorable day.
For the Hawaiians, the Makahiki was a time of joy and celebration for the prosperity of the land, abundance of harvest and good health for family. During the Makahiki season, the Hawaiian’s honored Lono, the patron of the rain and fertility. Through the years, this celebration was observed by the Kupa’aina and Kama’aina alike with traditional Hawaiian games, song, hula, storytelling and Hawaiian crafts.
The Sheraton Waikiki, Moana Surfrider—A Westin Resort and Spa, and the Sheraton Princess Ka’iulani will also showcase other activities throughout the day.
