Below are a few of our many resort activities: The Royal Hawaiian History Tour Take a tour of The Royal Hawaiian and enjoy fascinating stories about our iconic resort, including answers to fun questions like “Why is the resort pink?” and plenty more. A complimentary walking tour is offered every Tuesday and Thursday at 1pm to educate guests about the resort’s rich history and famous guests. The Royal Hawaiian Ethno-Botanic Tour The Royal Hawaiian has a rich history in every sense of the word, and in every aspect of the property; the flora being no exception. Explore the garden oasis surrounding our resort and learn about the various origins, ancient Hawaiian uses and mythological beliefs about the fascinating plant species. Waikiki Beach Boys Introduction to Surfing Meet with the legends of Waikiki Beach and let them show you the art of this sacred sport, made famous in Hawaii. Experience Waikiki Beach as it has been enjoyed for years. Our Beach Boy service gives a nod to our rich surf culture. The Waikiki Beach Boys have been a part of social life on the islands since 1901. Services (fee) include: surf lessons, outrigger canoe tours, stand up paddling, catamaran rides, and beach boy valet (a personal Beach Boy to assist you with all of your beach activities). Waikiki Beach Services is located on the pool deck. Hula and Tahitian Lessons Learn hula and Tahitian dance on the sacred grounds of Helumoa, where Hawaiian Royalty once lived. Guests will learn the style called Hula auana (a modern style of hula) and some classic Tahitian moves. Floral Lei Making Learn the arts of floral lei making. In Hawaiian tradition, these garlands were worn by ancient Hawaiians to beautify themselves and distinguish themselves from others. Today they are passed between guests and friends as a sign of welcoming and appreciation. Lauhala Bracelets Discover the process of traditional bracelet making with this fun one hour lesson. Hawaiian Quilting Learn the basics of Hawaiian quilting with Patricia Lei who will guide and educate you on this cultural phenomenon. 'Aha 'Aina, The Royal Hawaiian Luau This ocean front dinner show is the most unique dining experience in Waikiki. The extraordinary program allows guests to travel through time with music, song, dance and cuisine. The program includes a five course sit-down dinner and an open bar.
